I'm pretty sure I would barf all the way through a film adaptation of Blood Meridian. I'm much more squeamish in movie theaters than I am in real life, and that book has got some serious slaughterin'. And fecal matter. And scalping. And disfigurement. Which isn't to say that I didn't enjoy it. Anyway, yeah, good luck with that.

(I was pretty excited when I heard the Coen brothers are filming No Country For Old Men. I haven't read the book yet, but it sounds like the kind of project the bloodthirsty Coens can handle -- though it is not likely to be hilarious.)

I take issue with your characterization of Malick, I think the man made his best work 30-40 years ago and has since lost his way. That aside though, all excellent answers.
