These come out lovely, can't wait to try it!

Although I think you might have forgotten something for step 4? Contrast to -100 is just going to make everything solid gray.

Oopsy daisy, my mistake, try -50. It seemed to work fine with my image, though depending on your base, you made need little adjustments. :)
