My mom got her cast off today! Her hand is still hurting, but she's still doing better now that she can do stuff, and worse, because she's doing stuff. ::facepalm:: We'll see what happens. The doctor has cleared her to go back to work next week, so hopefully she'll be okay.

I went and downloaded the app for my ipod because they amuse me so much and then just sat there playing it. Then I showed it to my mom and she was SO CONFUSED. XDDD I love the name too.

I dunno, Twilight is pretty trashy and def. not good as a relationship model, but I feel like it gets a ridiculous amount of hostility when I've read things that are so, so much worse than it. I also just really object to a fandom hierarchy of "My interests are better/more legitimate than yours, nyaaaa~!"

It was more the context on F!S today, which was that the OP was being berated for their fandom being too girly and otherwise stupid by someone who thinks Twilight (with sparkly vampires) is the be all and end all.

I do understand what you're saying, and I think that Twilight gets so much hate because it's so popular. So the rabid fandom (haters and stans) is so big at this point, and people tend to look down on it.

I don't hate Twilight, I actually love it for the lulz it has brought into my life, but it's hard to take seriously. I judge the hardcore fans who are like Twilight is THE MOST AMAZING THING EVAR OMG and bring it to me, but not someone for just being a fan. The context was actually someone who loved Twilight was judging/mocking a friend for their fandom. Which, combined with what dazz said, came across as hilarious.
