The Trouble with Presents

Rodney liked Christmas. There was no other time in the year when one could eat that much without getting pointed looks. Therefore at least once a year he didn’t stick out because of his high metabolism.
And then there were the presents. Rodney liked getting presents. He just hated giving presents which - sadly - was also expected of him as part of Christmas.
It’s not that he was too stingy to buy presents. He just wasn’t good at it. Of course he knew about which presents he would be happy with, but he could not explain why his sister for one had never been thrilled by his gifts.
And this year it was even worse. Oh no, he didn’t need presents for his family - they had to love him anyway - that’s what family was for after all. This year, Rodney needed a present for Katie and Rodney wanted it to be a special present, a present that said “I kind of like you”.
But as his sister had repeatedly told him, he had no idea what kind of gifts girls liked. And how should he know? Girls ARE strange and it’s not as if they teach you that kind of stuff at university, let alone High School.
Since time was running out Rodney had to admit that he needed help...
