All I want for Christmas

Elizabeth never missed home as much as during the Christmas season. It had been worst during their first year, while they were cut off from Earth. She had missed the decoration and the smell of fresh baked cookies terribly. But most of all she had missed the snow.
It hardly ever snowed on Lantea, and Atlantis was too close to the equator to see any snow at all.
She couldn’t even remember when she last saw snow.
This year they at least had Christmas decorations and cookies, which had been part of the Daedalus’ last supply mission.
But from time to time Elizabeth still caught herself looking out of the window wishing for snow.
