What I do is color all the blood with #6F0303 on a screen layer, trying to color as much as I can. Sometimes if there's a ton of small splatters of blood, I'll leave them alone but I usually color everything. [Image]
Once I'm finished coloring, I take that layer, duplicate it and set it on overlay and erase anything that might have bled (oh god, pun unintended) onto anything I didn't want touched (background, skin, clothing, etc.). Opacity can be adjusted as needed, I tend to set it to 50%. [Image 2]
Then I duplicate the layer a third time and set it on multiply and adjust the opacity again as needed. The third layer is optional, but it does provide some darkening. [Image 3
That's pretty much how I handle most of my pictures. With tears/sweat, I tend to do something similar, but it's usually a layer of light blue on low opacity on overlay or screen. I'll have to see if I have any good example of those.

Just one thing, HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET THE BLOOD TO TURN OUT SO GOOD?! *is kinda epically failing in that regard*
