We've actually did 3 race books for third edition: Gnomes, Dwarves, and Elves. Four if you count the Goblins sourcebook which was intended to make them a race usable for players.

It would be harder to do them under 4th edition but not impossible. Rather unlikely I will convert them as long as I have sufficient sales on the 3rd edition side.

And my reading of the (current) GSL lets you update them when/if you decide to - as long as you don't go back. Now, it also appears that a conservative reading of clause 6.1 would require you to update all your races books (if *Wizards* "reasonably" determines they are part of the same line, not you). That could be a problem.

I anticipate a boom in twin-companies; one to do OGL, and one to do GSL.

(Aside, weren't those d20 STL books? You'll have to convert them to OGL or GSL anyway, in that case).
