Like you didn't know this was coming

So pretty much the entirety of Skins fandom is afire with wank over tonight's finale.  I have to give it credit; I haven't seen anything this polarizing in fandom since Breaking Dawn.  Everyone's wanking, myself included.  I've had this post building in me for a while, but masochist that I am, I was hoping the show would get better and the need for ( Read more... )

I don't watch Skins, but I saw a few episodes of S3 over the summer because it was on BBC America, so I'm somewhat familiar with these characters. After I read about the fuckery that went on in last week's episode, I was curious to know how it all going to end. After reading Katie's comments and this entry about it, I'm just kinda like... wtf. I don't need to see it to know that there was some shitty storytelling going on there. If I were a Skins fan, I'd be raging pretty hard right now.

I actually made it through all of S1 and most of S2, and I'll just say I feel about gen 1 what you feel about gen 2. I didn't even make it through the first ep of S1 and then my friend had to twist my arm into watching this show, I was that uninterested. She showed me some youtube clips from S3 and I was like "Oh hey, I like this a lot better" and then I grew to really love gen 2, and I still can't make myself care about anyone in gen 1 aside from Maxxie, Tony, and Cassie. Although I do enjoy Chris sometimes because he's funny.

I still love S3 and will probably rewatch and enjoy it as long as I pretend S4 isn't coming. But I don't think I'll ever give what I've seen of gen 1 a second viewing, and I'm having more difficulty getting myself to finish S2 than Make It or Break It :/

I AGREE WITH ALL OF THIS. Maybe they could have saved it if there had been one more episode to tie a few more things up, but imo Naomi should have just kicked Emily out so that they'd have enough time to form an angry mob at the killer's house. I think this season did a good job of turning Cook and Katie into sensitive, sympathetic characters, but the plotlines just got so messy and bogged everything down. It's not like the previous series didn't have loads of crazy business going on, but this was all just too much.

JUST GIVE ME MORE KAREN

That's all that I could take away from this :/

I read it all, and I wholeheartedly agree. I commend you for articulating your feelings instead of me just being like "FUUUUUUUUUUUU----"
