don't leave me high, don't leave me dry

So it took me a week, and it cost me an essay and a Code Blue update and certainly my potential for a speedy recovery from illness, but. After a week's hard labour, I present... the monster itself.

Eternal thanks to the amazing Faery-jess (sillyangelfaery) for reading through and catching silly little things like switches into second person. Also thanks to my ( Read more... )

EEEEEEEEE. This was wonderful! (See, those exploding drabbles really are the best ones!) I loved a number of things in this, from Shizuka being the one stuck with sight to Watanuki being all Grown Up and Yet Not, the way they had the tenative connection, the "static between them,"--basically the whole damn fic. I wonder what the deal is with Himawari, and it doesn't really matter but it just adds to the whole atmosphere and dimension of the piece.

Really, really nice, and worth the wait!

8D I am very glad you liked it. (XD I'll have to concur with that. Even if they are hell to deal with.) And as for Shizuka being stuck with sight, as you say - I was considering how things would go if Watanuki were to have his wish granted in the end, and it occurred to me that Shizuka is seeing spirits in canon now, so... that was the inspiration for the drabble that spawned this monster. And Watanuki Grown Up and Yet Not is probably the most fun I've ever had writing him. :D

The deal with Himawari... well, I may expand on this, but to my thinking she took over Yuuko's job. I don't know what happened to Yuuko - maybe she's still there, drinking in the back and occasionally being helpful - but Himawari's running the wish-granting now. :)

Thank you so much!

Wow. During the beginning, my heart was aching because of the distance between Watanuki and Doumeki (and a lesser extent their distance to Himawari, but it was mostly the two guys).

The ending made me feel all better! Thanks for writing :)

I like your tags for this. Really gay genfic seems to sum this fic up.

Except NOT. This fic was lovely, and mellow, and fabulous.

Like... a black and white silent movie.

Why thank you. The sad thing is, it seems to sum up a lot of my fic. XD

Oh, thank you again. Lovely and mellow was what I was aiming for; I expect fabulous is an added bonus garnered from hours of hard labour. (If it is indeed as wonderful as you say, of course, but I am inclined to believe the people who read my writing over my own harsh judgements.)

Right, it's late; I'm rambling. Thank you again.

That was absulotely, positively, completely and in all other ways worth the wait. It was even better than I expected (And I expected a lot.)

I don't know what to tell you but that personally I think that is publishing-level work.

Fangirling to come when the gay has set in fully.

:D Thanks! And I know how high your standards are so. I am flattered.

R-really? I mean, I liked this one a lot but. Publishing-level? Really?

XD Dunno when that'll be. I have other things to write before I return to this 'verse.

By publishing-level I mean your style, tone, development, pacing... They were all amazing and what I expect from published work. It was really, really great. Seriously.

Scuze me, I'm over here blushing like a maniac.

or, y'know, would be. If I blushed.

But. Thank you. That's gotta be the best compliment I've ever received.
