audio book

Hi all! I very recently joined the amazon audiobook site and was excited to see that coldfire books were there - I could not see a review or anything though and audio books are quite expensive so I wouldn't want to buy one only to find myself hissing in frustration every time Tarrant spoke because they got the voice all wrong or something... I have the audiobooks. The guy reading doesn't do any kind of different voices, it's simple reading, no acting, very little emotion and too fast. I was rather spoiled by the great audiobooks of Lynn Flewelling's Nightrunner series and had hoped for something similar, but was disappointed. I wouldn't recommend spending much money on it. The best word for it would be listless.

oh ok then - thanks! I was thinking that an audio version might be more of a performance and that would be like owning the film version and the book version rather than just the same book in 2 slightly different formats... I would have been tempted by a really good one but it is a lot of money to spend on something described as listless ;) what a shame - characters like these deserve awesome narration... :)
