*hugs* That's totally understandable; if it's not making you happy anymore, then getting out of it is the right thing to do. You're a natural storyteller, hon, and a very good one; you did original fiction before and you'll be able to do it again. ♥
*hugs* No de-friending here. I hope you have recovered fully from your illness.
I felt like you do about fic a while back, no matter how many times I try to get back into it the more I just want to do original work instead. I hope you get our writing muse back!
*hugs* You are a very talented writer, and I hope you finish the 1500-page novel. I think writing fanfic has kept up your skills and discipline, and perhaps some of your fics may be salvageable by changing names. I am worried about your health, though, and hope you recover your strength soon.
The novel is long since gone, I'm afraid. Thrown out with all my other pieces of original fiction. I'm actually going to take a look at a few of the ideas I had plotted out for fic (I've got a folder full) to see whether there is anything I can take and reinvent. At the very least it will get me thinking about how to create an original universe again. :)
I won't be defriending you. I used to read your fic, of course, but that was ages ago. Or at least a few fandoms ago. Now I just stick around because you're my friend and I like hearing little updates about your life.
I'm actually hoping that this break with fic spurs your muse on again for original stuff. Not right away probably, because you need time to heal, but eventually, I think your original ideas will come back to you and since you won't automatically try to fill them with characters someone else created, some really great stories will be produced.
But if your muse never returns, not even for novels, I will still be your friend.

*hugs again for good measure*

Yup, getting away from the internet/fandom kind of woke me up a bit. Just not turning my computer on for a couple of days was surprisingly pleasant.
