It's happened.

I vaguely recall that long ago, when signing up for my hotmail account, I entered my year of birth on some form. This data is used to help them direct certain kinds of advertising my way. I just turned 35, and behold!

The ads I see now are for Weight Watchers. Several Botox-related products and at least one claiming to be Better ( Read more... )

I have finally wrenched open a window in my new office. The temperature in here is climbing by the second. This is the best thing that has happened all week: it's been about 60°F in here with gale-force A/C. Outside it's been in the 80s and 90s. I've been wearing my full-on Icelandic sweater.

In totally unrelated news, I inadvertently made borscht with pomegranate juice. It is not appreciably worse than borscht with beet juice. It might be better. I think I was distracted.

I always run across Magga Stina, former something or other of the Sugarcubes and popstar in her own right in the locker room. I always think: there's a good example of the punked-out autre Icelandic style, and then I realize RIGHT! It's Magga Stína.
