I've got to admit that I have only vague plans that develop as I write. I have certain things that I know that will happen, but usually the endings, for example, are a total mystery to me too.
I write down random ideas into either a notebook or a post-it note (as you know :DDD) just in case. Sometimes it's funny when I half-asleep write some kind of vague idea and in the morning have no memory of waking up at all, only to find the paper with the idea...
The reason why I don't plan my fanfics is because if I knew all of what will happen, I'd get bored of it xD There're some authors who work better when they've planned everything, though.
lol, that's how I do it too. Some parts are planned in my head, the rest just "happens" in the process of writing. But sometimes, when I reread it again, I found lots of loose ends I didn't clear up because I didn't follow the initial route the story was taking x_x
I haven't written any fanfics in a long while but when I do I just go along with my feelings and ideas about something (as I usually write oneshots) and form that. I actually write the story in notebooks that are only for those stories and then when tipping it on the computer I add new things erase others.
having a plot for the whole story becomes boring (as you have said before) and then you don't want to keep writting it yoruself. I think is best to write with the flow that way you surprise yourself as the reader.
I just go along with my feelings and ideas Oh yeah, I do that too. Sometimes your surrounding or something else can influence your feelings while you're typign your story. By planning everything out, there's sometimes no room to include the atmosphere around you.
