As bad as I might feel for Sherlock, is anyone else really hoping that we get to have a look at Kitty Riley’s newspaper exposé of Sherlock’s life in Series 3?

I'm so curious.

Is anyone else really curious to see or hear what it contains?

That's the thing that intrigued me too; the fact that John's reaction seemed to suggest that he may be familiar with Sherlock's background

Yes, I think you're right that we'll never get the full details, no matter how much fans may want them. *pouts* But on the other hand, they have a point that it adds to the mystery and allows us to create our own backstories in fanfic and so on.

Also, while John may know Sherlock's early life history (and I think you're right that Mycroft and he at least discussed Sherlock's history with drugs at some point), neither John nor Mrs. Hudson knew whether or not Sherlock had ever been in a relationship before. So that's at least one area they've never discussed (and that must not have been in Kitty's article). Helps to narrow it down, maybe? :)

THIS ^. I do think that the enigma is an important aspect of Sherlock's character.

Nah, I've never watched it. It certainly doesn't look bad though. Maybe I'll watch it when it's released on box-set in the UK.
