Guide to Holmesverse
Please note: this community is currently on hiatus until the new episodes air in 2012. Feel free to friend the community for an update at that time.
We are a "land" community for the BBC's television show Sherlock.
We offer a wide variety of activities, challenges, games, and contests. Our members participate in these opportunities to earn points for their team. The teams compete in a friendly fashion to “solve the case”. Each week, there will be several different challenges that you can enter, including, but not limited to, fanfiction, graphics, and puzzles. We also have an emphasis on fun and social interaction.
Points
You will receive points for participating in activities; different challenges may earn different numbers of points. Points are allocated at the end of each challenge. Some challenges may also offer the opportunity to earn extra points through voting or some other means.
Teams
Right now, we have two teams: Team Logic and Team Passion.
"Cases"
Our competition rounds are called "cases". Each case lasts 2 months. At the end of each case, the team with the most points is declared the winner that "solved the case", and the points reset.

Our Communities
holmesverse is the main community where important announcements and general information are shared. You must be a member of this community to participate in Holmesverse. It is highly recommended that you watch this community as well. Only mods can post in this community.
hv_apt_221b is our social community. Joining and/or watching it is completely optional, but great fun. Any member can post in this community.
Team Communities

You must be a member of your team's community to participate in Holmesverse, and it is recommended that you watch it. Any member of that team can post in their team's community.
Challenge Communities
hv_bookwork is the community for written/word-based challenges.
hv_brainwork is the community for games, puzzles, and miscellaneous challenges.
hv_brushwork is the community for art and graphics challenges.
You must be a member of at least one challenge community to participate in Holmesverse. You do not have to join all three if you know that you will never have an interest in the types of challenges offered at one, though. Only mods can post in these communities.
hv_mods is the community that Holmesverse mods use to communicate with each other. Only mods have access to this community, for the most part.
