((OOC: Channel should know I read what's said when I'm asleep.))There were things about this school that were beyond Kusuriyuri's dreams. That he'd find ones so precious to him as Kurama and his students was still surprising to him, still enough to bring a secret smile to his lips ( Read more... )

Near didn't recognize the person in the loligoth dress until he caught sight of him from the front. Kusuriyuri? He smirked inwardly.

"This is a new look for you. Was it Kurama's idea?"

Kusuriyuri bowed slightly at Near. "It may be, or it may be the closets refused to offer up anything other. Are you well?" he asked.

Closets here could do that? What a dreadful thought. Near wore his habitual white pajamas for both physical and psychological comfort, and strayed from them only to wear a tshirt of Mello's on occasion. Further change would be disturbing.

"Quite well, thank you. I trust you are, also?"

Although the dress certainly didn''t look bad on Kusuriyuri.

Boukensha chirruped, a happy kitten noise, in response to Near's question. Kusuriyuri reached up to scratch the kitten's chin. "Aside from difficulties with the closet, well," he replied.

Kurama was making a detour through the school to the hospital wing - he'd slipped while wrestling with a stubborn branch that had decided to merge with the roof of greenhouse one and had ended up with a nasty nosebleed, probably a broken nose, and some severely wounded pride.

All of that was put completely put on the side when he noticed... no. It... seriously?

He walked up to Kusuriyuri, a confused little grin on his face.

"This is new," he said, biting his lip. Damned if Kusuriyuri didn't look spectacular in that dress, though.

Kusuriyuri tilted his head, looking up at Kurama. "Shirogitsune has wounded himself?" he said, his voice concerned, apparently ignoring the look on Kurama's face, save for the slight hint of color beginning to creep up his neck. He reached up and touched Kurama's face gently on his cheek, as close to the wound as he dared.

"Just me being especially thick-headed," he grinned. Oh, the innuendo. And he wasn't even trying. "What, er... what inspired the dress?"

Kusuriyuri raised his eyebrow at Kurama, the color slowly creeping upwards. "It was all that the closet would produce," he said. Boukensha voiced his opinion of the clothing, which seemed at odds with Kurama's.

Matt was playing on his PSP. He happened to look up at the right time to see Kusu in a dress.

He doubled over in laughter.

Boukensha made his displeasure at Matt's outburst known in the loudest tones he could employ, which did little to help the situation. Kusuriyuri turned to Matt with as much dignity as he could muster and raised an eyebrow. "Are you unwell?" he asked.

Matt didn't answer at first, so occupied he was in laughing.

"Did you lose a bet?!" he managed to get out.

Kusuriyuri looked at himself as if he were completely unaware of what he was wearing. "No, this is what the closet deemed appropriate for today," he said simply. Boukensha, for his part continued to vocalize his disapproval of Matt's mirth.

Well, he's speechless. Really. That's about it.

"Forgive this one his poor appearance," Kusuriyuri appologized. "The closet was disinclined to allow me to dress more appropriately." He bowed slightly, though not enough to disturb the kitten.

"Ah, no, no, it's all right." Kaga waved him off, slightly flustered. "It's perfectly all right."

Kusuriyuri bowed slightly again. "Would you care for some tea?" he asked, "Or were you on your way somewhere?"

With the two quarreling dragons making the Forbidden Forest even more dangerous than usual, the raptor had wisely decided to relocate for a while, wandering school grounds instead. Those assigned to care for him over the years had never actually done so, through no fault of their own, naturally; he was not exactly a tame beast, and finding him would normally entail venturing into the now dragon infested woods. This was what led the ever dutiful house elves to ensure he was well fed whenever he appeared within the castle. It wouldn't do to have him eating any students.

The raptor was still chewing on a large chunk of raw meat as he trotted down the hallway, accompanied by the telltale clicking on his claws against the stone. Demons in all their varied forms were neither a new scent nor sight for him, but something about Kusuriyuri must have warranted a closer inspection, as the raptor paused a few feet away, facing Kusuriyuri, head raised as he audibly sniffed the air. (And, lest there be any confusion, this was not a turkey-sized... )

Kusuriyuri looked up. The creature was taller than Kurama, and with it's tail, was vastly larger. He watched the creature carefully, well aware of the meat in it's mouth and that he was being scented. It had been a very long time since any creature had looked at him in a way that it could be weighing him for its next meal. There were larger predators in the forests of Japan that would, if pressed for food, make a meal of a lone traveler, or try, as the case may be. He stilled, wondering just what the best way to deal with this creature was.

What was left of the meat disappeared as the raptor tossed his head back and swallowed it whole. Having a full stomach (so full, in fact, it was slightly distended) would normally turn him lazy, and send him in search of a suitable place to bask in the sun and digest his meal. Unfortunately it was overcast outside, and besides which, something had caught his attention. He was nothing if not inquisitive.

His head was canted to one side as he observed first the cat, then Kusuriyuri himself, but since neither had attempted to flee, his prey drive remained dormant. The raptor lowered his head and hunched forward as he took a tentative step toward Kusuriyuri, then another, still sniffing. With his hunger already well satiated, his interest in the medicine peddler lay elsewhere. He was... curious.

Boukensha seemed less concerned about the creature than Kusuriyuri was. The fact that there seemed to be no aura of hunger or bloodlust was, if not wholly reassuring, at least enough to keep Kusuriyuri still. "And you are?" he asked, his voice soft but pitched to cover the space between them. He hoped it didn't startle the creature.
