Needless to say, he was surprised to see his new pet friend passed out in the arms of the New Kid.
"My," he said, by way of greeting, "he sure got over his shyness quick." He hadn't meant for it to sound that biting, but there was that tiny tug of jealousy that his one acquaintance outside of tactical planning was with someone else, and he still had a Vanyel-induced migraine.

"I wasn't aware," he said back, his tone quite clipped and cold, "that Vanyel was supposed to be shy around me." He glared icily at this man - he already didn't like him. Unlike everyone else here, he seemed... sinister. Even more sinister than the fish-man-thing. He tried to sit up a little straighter, only succeeding in jostling Vanyel around a little, and settled back, glaring sullenly.
