Open RP with Draco

May 24, 2008 23:09

Somehow, the novelty of magic that was so fresh and new in Draco's mind when he had started his career at Hogwarts had slowly been sucked out of him. He, as a true pure-blood citizen, was raised around magic and had seen some pretty impressive results from the wand ( Read more... )

"Yuuri!" Wolfram von Bielefeld dashed down the hall, looking for his wayward fiancé. He passed Draco to look around the corner, and then turned back around at the stranger. "You!" He called out imperiously.

"Have you seen someone dressed all in black passing by? He very dark and very cute, and is likely to either be hugging someone or flirting shamelessly with House-Elves!"

Once Draco had actually turned around, (it wasn't until the later part of the boy's speech), he wrinkled his nose.

"Surely if I had, I wouldn't pay much attention to someone hugging a house-elf." Draco turned back around.

"Flirting with house-elves. Though he probably would hug them too. No, Yuuri is likely to be hugging some rabid skunk by now." Wolfram frowned in frustration. He then looked at the window Draco was sitting at.

"Out of my way! I need to look."

Draco heard the tone in the boy's voice and pulled out his wand. The short fuse that had already been slowly getting smaller and smaller had run out.

Standing before the boy, Draco pointed his wand so that it was aimed, fixed at his sternum.

"I won't move."

Hogwarts had grown a little bit darker since George King began attending classes in the fall. Her dear friend Robin was popcorn, and unspeakable things occurred in darkened halls. But George had learned to control her abilities in the city of New York, which had an even gruesomer underbelly. Therefor she walked as if in blissful ignorance, though George was neither.

She stopped when she saw Draco at the window, and smiled. "Hello."

"Hi," His response was curt and direct. He didn't make much eye-contact because he could tell from the first glance that she wasn't a normal student at Hogwarts. She was, and the other students like her, were the exact reason he had been sulking in the first place.

If Draco's curt reply offended her, George did not show it. She tilted her head in sympathy and stopped. "What's the matter?"

"I don't want to talk about it, really," Draco replied again. His tone was monotone with the intention of getting the girl to top bothering him. He would have added I don't want to talk about it with you, but decided against it as the girl was polite.

"Where are you from?" It was an honest questions and a quick way to tell if she was a muggle or not.

Brooding was something Zelgadiss was intimately familiar with; he did enough of it himself. He was also, however, fully aware of just how unhealthy it was.

He leaned against the wall beside the window. "Problems?"

"I don't need company-" Draco turned to the voice and stopped, horrified. Dim house-elves and fire-breathing dragons were things Draco had been raised with. He wasn't alarmed by mermaids or giant squids. When he was young, he even wanted a pet Basilisk. He had never seen, however, something that looked like what he was standing next to.

In fear of some sort of retaliation, Draco casually took two steps to the right, away from the thing. This would give him time to draw his wand if need be.

Zel froze. Nobody had reacted to him like that in so long he'd almost forgotten that anyone would react to him like that. When he finally understood what was going on, he relaxed. "Sorry; I'd kind of forgotten that my looking like this upsets people. I'm not going to hurt you, trust me."

"Just stay there," Draco told him quietly, sounding firm with his words but not rude. He looked the thing over and was still surprised by his appearance.

"What are you?" He made no attempts to hide his disgust.

"Excuse me," says L, quiet and without inflection.

"Do you know the way to the Ravenclaw Common Room from here? I've become turned around." He presses his thumb to his bottom lip.

"What?" Draco asked, not quite hearing the boy. His voice was quiet and sounded calm. Draco turned and looked at him, only able to make out the words "Ravenclaw".

"I'm a Slytherin, I'm not a Ravenclaw," He declared, showing the boy his emerald and gray tie.

At twenty, L isn't much of a boy any more. But he has a certain gangliness to him; Draco can be forgiven for the mistake.

"And I know where that is from here. But I can't find Ravenclaw."

Draco looked down the corridor and thought about the Ravenclaw common room. He stepped forward and pointed.

"You go that way. Once you turn the corner, ask someone else. It gets confusing."

Primavera was bored.

It wasn't difficult to bore Primavera, granted. Next to the fast-paced dirty excitement of Bangkok, rural Scotland left much to be desired. She had taken to pacing the corridors in restless discontentment.

Imagine her surprise to meet someone with hair almost as unnaturally blonde as hers! Her lip curled a little as she sized up the boy.

"What do you use on your hair?" she demanded.

"Excuse me?" He asked, hearing the woman's words quite clearly. His tone was typical as he scoffed. "I use shampoo. Like normal people. What do you use?"

"You're excused, provisionally." She rolled her eyes. (She looked older than she was; metamorphosis left every doll looking the same; the eyeroll, though, betrayed her callow youth. In reality Miss Primavera Bobinski hadn't lived to see sweet sixteen.) "I would hope you'd use shampoo. I'm talking product."

"I don't use product," Draco told her honestly. He looked at the woman and saw that her hair, without as much shine or perfection, resembled his mother's hair.

"Are you a pureblood?" He asked with skepticism. He hadn't seen the girl before so he guessed she wasn't.
