I hate to say this, but one man, even if he is president, isn't going to be the "end of America". We're nice and fucked at the moment, but that's not -just- Bush's fault (even if he is a moron). And I'm of the mind that Obama simply could not do worse than what Bush has.

I still firmly believe that the US is a good place for Baby Bean to be born.

If McCain had won... I'd be more than a little nervous about the addition of a religious whackjob (Palin) to the presidential lineup. Religion does not belong in government in the way that the Republicans use it as a platform - that is why I would've never voted for McCain. It surprises me that this is not more of an issue for you, actually. You don't strike me as the type of person that appreciates being told you're going to hell for believing what you want to believe. Particularly not by the Government.
