Seven-nation armpit / the hills are alive with the sound of people pedalling squares

Today I am really quite sleep-deprived after being woken at zero-dark by $website (and indeed $other-website) expiring on Sunday and Monday. Is that because the young hirez was more caring and sharing towards the clue-deprived, or just because the older JH-R is now less deferential and more willing to deliver said shoeing?

In other news, I've spent today becoming desirous of a trip to Hoxton and Lambeth in order to consult with the Bright Young Things upon the details of complicated new technologies. I may need to go and lie down in a dark place.

JHR the younger could keep up with the unemployables down at the 'fields while still holding down a straight job.

JHR the elder prefers some skronk-jazz with a couple of pints of real ale once every few months. And puts up with less shit because it's in no-one's interests so to do.

You want some HTML-5 doing? Or is it the Ruby now? It does seem that the way of Ruby is to re-implement existing technology, but worse.

HTML 5 - I need a new cluebat, with the message on it that even if you do decide to use HTML 5 for the flashy new un-Flashy video page, there's still no benefit at all to converting other pages on the site to be HTML 5.

This is for something much more interesting though, although the probability is that it will actually be a trip to Norn Iron (even more bizarre than Hoxton).
