Klub Foot was at the Clarendon, Hammersmith Broadway - however when that was demolished it moved all over the place - last seen at the Dome in Tuffnel Park iirc

Ah. Ta. The adverts for it were a fixture in early 80s NME.

Top Rank and the Bierkellers were a chain (as was T&C eventually) so bands often toured all of them. It's probably just me being northern that twisted some of my answers.

mister_ed would also be able to confirm the legendary status of Scarborough's TJs though I completely forgot the Newport one despite having gigged it supporting Bernie Torme for my shame

True. However, there only seemed to be a few that featured regularly in tour listings.

God. You've reminded me that Dingwalls tried franchising itself for a while. I wonder where they were? (And didn't/doesn't the Barfly?)

I'm woefully old when it comes to gigs and tours aren't I? *woe* *more woe*

Oddly enough, our Bierkeller (where I saw both Bauhaus and the Sisters on their first tours - Goth and Steins anyone?) was taken over by Dingwalls and Batfink's temporary home at Bar Phoenix was briefly a branch of Barfly!

I had to sit, think, and grovel through an old NME for some of them. Tackhead at Kilburn National was one of the best gigs I've been to.

Corn Exchanges are everywhere. Even Edinburgh has one these days (it's a converted abbatoir, as far as I can tell). Never heard of the Cricketers. And PragVec, I'm told, never ever played the Melkweg.
