Adrien had expected the owlery to be empty so he hadn't been too surprised when he had found himself alone. Most people were in classes or finishing up lunch and frankly, he was thankful for the solitude. It gave him a chance to owl home in peace and collect his thoughts. Needless to say, he wasn't happy to hear someone clomping up the stairs to the owlery

Jackie tied her letter to her owl's leg, and released it out the window. She watched it fly away, half-wishing she could fly alongside with it, and escape the pressures of... life. When he responded, she lifted an eyebrow, slightly amused. "That's good..." she said. "And I'm sure if you had poured your heart to anyone else, it would have been broad-casted throughout the school by now." She chuckled a little at that. It was, after all, Hogwarts. Gossip and rumors spread quickly and rampantly.
Technically, she would have agreed with him. He really didn't pour out his emotions, and she could only guess that he knew the Slytherin girl who had been killed. She wasn't going to pry the confirmation out of him, so she let that topic drop.
"I've been fine..." she answered. She eyed him. "It's good to see Tatiana decided against hexing your hair green." Not that she cared about his hair color, but she really didn't want Tati to get detention for it. How Blaze managed not to surprised her, but better to quit while they were ahead,
He looked thoughtful at this. That was true. It was lucky that people hadn't heard about his little encounter with Jackie. He wouldn't hear the end if it it people had. "It's a good thing you haven't told anyone or else..." He trailed off, turning slightly to glance out the window. His words were an odd mix of a threat and a thank you and it was close to impossible to determine which one he intended. Maybe both. That seemed like the easiest solution

Jackie blinked at his words. "It's a good thing you haven't told anyone or else..." Or else what? He'd be the laughing stock of Hogwarts? Even if no one would really care that he had been vulnerable about Niki's death, she was sure the Gryffindors would have blown it all out of proportion. And she would be lectured in the evils of Slytherins and sternly told never to talk to any of them. So, she shrugged. "Why would I tell anyone?" She was curious. There would be no reason for her to mention their conversation. It didn't concern anyone else.
It was a good thing he was pretending everything was all right. Or else Jackie might find herself giving him another hug, and that wasn't something she really wanted to repeat. So, it was good she wasn't entirely perceptive in his actions and that she didn't know him well enough to figure out he was pretending. Silly girl. She had to keep repeating to herself that hugs didn't solve everything... even
