I just read a kink meme fill. It was an interesting topic, I liked it until...

I read an offhand remark in the fill that female nations were rare, implying that almost all of the nations were male.

WTF.

Just because Himaruya couldn't draw girls when he created Hetalia doesn't mean female nation-tans are rare! In real life, too, most countries have ( Read more... )

The bold comment - is that in regards to Himaruya's anthropomorphisms alone? Because yeah, that'd be factual.

If they meant irl anthropomorphisms, they'd be misinformed. Most anthropomorphisms of countries are female.

You got that off the kink meme? Have you maybe actually thought that the person requesting wasn't referring to the series itself but the actual kink meme, in which it IS rare to see requests with female nations. Just look at the recent part, and compare how many requests there are with female nations compared to male nations. The ratio is a hell of a lot smaller when you factor in how many requests are FILLED with female nations compared to male nations ( ... )

...I have no idea what you're trying to say with this. Where are you getting this nations are genderless thing? Nations may well be but the characters aren't, and there are way more male ones, hence, female nations are rarer. So far, anyway.
