Roof somewhere in Fandom, Monday

Blossom had found the tippy top most part of a very high already place that was as close to an emo roof as she could get and was sitting there, trying to figure out a few things. Obviously it had been another of those weekends, and she'd been someone else. This time she'd been the Momoko who had lost Priestly ( Read more... )

Rooftops were no obstacle for Raven. And emo was like a beacon. Her bat signal, as it were.

She teleported herself up to the roof once she'd located Momoko and quietly sat down beside her. "These weekends are exhausting, are they not?" she said after a moment.

[SP, because I am crawling into bed shortly.]

"They seem to get more so every time." Momoko didn't hesitate to lean against her friend... her friend! "I wish the kids had come after this one, this time."

"Sorry all over again for all of that."

Raven slipped her arm around Momoko's back. "You do not need to apologize," she said. "It was in no way your fault."

Not that ever stopped Raven from apologizing for things, but details.

"I'm sorry you have to go through it, I mean. You have enough worries on your own, but then to have things always show up to remind you that you could be evil if you tried."

Dinah had encountered the people Tamsin had run into; now to talk to someone she hadn't....

*riiiing!*

Momoko only hesitated until the third ring, then sighed and gave in. "Hey Dinah. Did you make it to the island this weekend or were you lucky enough to get stuck in a portal lay-over in a dimension of sharp pointy things that like to stab people at random?"

"That much fun for you too, hunh." Dinah sounded very rueful. "I have ice cream? To share? Where are you?"

"Uhm." Momoko looked up. "Not sure? On a roof. Totally felt the need to be emo, and the dorm roof felt weird since I don't live there anymore."

She snapped a photo of the castle and sent it to Dinah's phone.

Warren's morning had been shaky. His afternoon had been a fair bit better, and now he was actually feeling... well, if not better, then at least more human as he flew back toward his hotel room. He had a trip to Hawaii to prepare for. Needed to get away from this place before he lost his temper at it and showed it who was boss with a stern lecture and some finger-shaking at the ground for effect.

But that flight path was detoured, slightly, when he noticed the familiar figure on the rooftop below. He circled, once, nerving himself up for whatever conversation was about to follow, and then he went into a dive, flaring his wings at the last moment and landing with barely a sound on the rooftop behind her.

"... Momoko?"

Ever notice how when one bird lands beside another, there isn't usually much of a response by the first bird? Even when the wire bounces?

That totally didn't happen here.

Blossom tensed and lifted away from the roof. Not exactly trying to run away but definitely letting him know she was nervous. "Warren... Hi?"

Of all the people she totally wasn't sure she was ready to see! I mean, it wasn't him obviously, and she wasn't her, which was maybe not so obvious, but still the memory of the other thems' relationship was fresh in her mind. As well as what other!she had done to him. Which was totally unfair for all that Momoko understood why she'd done it, but to keep Warren away from a healer when he was so obviously sick... Not that she thought he'd go for the healing. Or that she... either she believed it would be safe to let him near the real Karla after what he'd done to the fake ones. But it was still something that Momoko was queasy about. She limited his freedom ( ... )

"Oh, Momoko. No." He didn't take off after her. He knew better, when someone was that twitchy. "I... kind of wanted to apologize for... pretty much everything, but if now's a bad time..."

He inhaled. Held that breath for a moment, standing there on tenterhooks with his wings pulled so tightly against his back, it was a wonder they were visible at all.

"I'm me, too, for what it's worth. And what was between the two of them... that was something between two people who might have had similar beginnings as us, but they're not. They're not us."

"No, It's okay. Uhm. I'm... just... still working through the parts with you in it."

Oh GOOD, he wasn't mad at her. She sagged visibly, dipping slightly in the air, even.

"I'm sorry for all of it! Really! But... but she wasn't. She wanted to help you, but..."
