It has been A Day. Not a bad day, just... A Day. I am really tired. But! Today marks daily posting for three weeks in a row, which I have never done before -- not even back in my heyday, circa 2003-04, when I posted several times a week. The only other time I've managed anywhere near this many consecutive posts was in 2011, the 30 Days of Vidding ( Read more... )

What people who don't garden don't understand is that you NEED several kinds of EVERYTHING to have crop for a maximum amount of time. You need the early varieties, the late varieties and the in-between varieties. And then you need variety in terms of size, and colour, and shape, and taste. *nod*

I am so jealous of your tomatoes. I didn't even TRY to grow any veggies this year, the first time in 10 years. I just didn't have it in me to get it going.

I AM MAKING EGGPLANT PARMESAN TONIGHT. I feel like I'm connected on a deeply spiritual way to this post, is what I'm getting at. :D

Gardening is fucking hard, yo. But I live in a small town where I can eat crappy grocery store produce, buy tasty but boring produce from the local CSA (which I did, for a while) or grow my own preposterous vegetables. GARDENING IT IS.

Eggplant parmesan, om nom nom! I am making eggplant with parsley and pine nuts tomorrow night. Rosa Bianca eggplant is my FAVORITE. (I do kind of miss the other kinds I used to grow, though. Maybe next year...)
