So pretty! Black penguins would probably be at a significant evolutionary disadvantage (too visible from below the water with the sun shining down). But so, so pretty. :)

Now that one of the pictures is up on the National Geographic site the cries of "Photoshop!"have started appearing in the comments. I just don't see any evidence of Photoshop. I'm positive they're real!

I think it's some trick of the light, because when he stretches his neck, you can see it's all one bird.
