No, see, Watanuki took care of that by trying to balance the odds and get himself killed at the moment by falling down the window - I have this pet theory that R!Sya stopped not only because of Sakura's wail but also because WATANUKI TRIED TO SUBCONSCIOUSLY KILL HIMSELF and Sya somehow felt that and got... distracted. Right.
But gee, just imagine the angst when C!Sya, now reincarnated and grown up, realises that he stabbed his own son in the leg and frequently tried to kill him; nevermind what he did to Sakura, he's had a lifetime to get used to /that/ guilt, but his own /kid/. And that his own kid would try to kill him, and that he (the kid) would eventually realise that and start angsting himself (maybe; R!Sya looks to be surprisingly angst-free and level-headed for Clamp standards, on a par with Kurogane. I like that)
Ooh, that might work, but I thought the "subconsciously killing yourself" thing came later on, when the others were in Celes and Syao collapses not long after being shown Fai's past. He's been holding his head like he's in pain from the beginning, so yeah.
Trust CLAMP to create an endless circle of angst. It'll end up being a family gene, I bet. But damn, do they ever angst in style. C!Syao's always been kinda angsty, from the world with the Kudans to Acid Tokyo (mostly because of the love of his life not remembering him... yeah).
Oh yeah,I remember that too. So now I'm sort of confused, because in Holic Yuuko clearly mentioned that Watanuki fell down the window when C!Syaoran and R!Syaoran met and fought in Tokyo. Also, while they were still in Tokyo and Yuuko asked them if they wanted to go on, and I seem to remember that we were shown an image of Watanuki in bed and bandaged. I think something else happened by the time they reached Celes (wasn't that around the time Watanuki kept shifting from dreamworld to reality and didn't know which was which? Maybe the Celes bit was when he got splashed with hot tea by the Crazy Mother? I seem to remember getting another visual of Watanuki as they left Nihon behind, and he had compresses against his cheek...)
Pfffft, angst as a gene, you are brilliant! And eh, it wasn't the poor tyke's fault, considering. I actually think he shouldered the pain of his loss and worry over what might happen/the blackouts he was having quite well. *cuddles Syaoran*
That might be it, I dunno, might have to re-read them again, it's all so confusing. Damnit Clamp. >>;; Stupid clones and reincarnation and... whatever Watanuki is. Thirty Xantos Pileup indeed.
Well, it does seem to run in the family. Or maybe it's just to do with having magic. That seems to lead to angst. *stares at Yuui and Fai* Or you know, just misfortune.
