[Night 13] Area Between Perverts & Lockdown

Jan 03, 2010 10:38

[From Here]Stepping out into the area, his feet crunched on the compact dirt as he looked around for any signs of danger. The night, as usual, held a moon high in the sky that lit the way across the yard and the temperature was mild enough to be considered pleasant. It was the same old, same old in this place, and he had to wonder about that. Did ( Read more... )

Sephiroth hardly cared for introductions and simply moved off wordlessly with the group. There was only one reason as to why he was even bothering being with them in the first place, and he would fight to protect the blonde with every ounce of strength that he had.

Stepping through the door, the ex-General's movements slowed down to allow the others ahead of him. While some part of him desired to keep his distance and not have others at his back, another part knew that it was foolish to leave their flank unprotected. He cared not for the health of the other three, but he would hardly compromise Cloud's health for his own jaded desires.

He grunted to the orders, giving the impression that he'd do whatever he desired, and continued to follow silently behind the group.

11-12 was truly the odd one out in this situation. Not only being new and still very confused, the mention of creatures and a mission made him even more bewildered. He didn't know what they were actually going to do, he only thought they might be trying to escape.

He'd just followed Sephiroth, after all, rather foolishly.

So he continued to follow the group, not saying anything but becoming increasingly nervous. Though he didn't know it, he was the most vulnerable of them, having no special fighting or magical skills whatsoever.

Aerith was pleased when Cloud took charge of the situation. Being a leader was what he was best at, in her opinion. It was when his abilities really shined. She gave him an enthusiastic nod before moving towards the two younger boys. Yuuri would probably need a shoulder to cry on, and 11-12 looked a little scared. She would help them as much as she could tonight - Cloud definitely didn't need her in order to be strong. He only needed a little back up now and again.

Their group created a loose, but affective formation. Cloud was in the lead, with her and the boys in the middle. Sephiroth took up the rear, covering their backs. Though this made her a little nervous (Sephiroth wasn't exactly someone she particularly wanted where she could see him), she knew that Cloud wouldn't let them come to any harm, especially from someone he considered a comrade in arms.

He followed along after the others as they made their way out to the yard area. He hadn't been around this number of people since leaving Shin Makoku, and for some reason, the young Maou found himself settled despite what they were heading to do.

"Mmhm!" He answered to Cloud's order as he moved to walk beside 11-12. Curiosity getting the better of him, Yuuri peered over towards the other prisoner as he asked, "Is this your first night here?"

Sephiroth's gaze shifted around to the building walls and surrounding area. He no longer trusted even the rooftops after that last creature had hunted them from it, and since then he'd been left cautious.

His pace didn't slow down, but for one single moment, his gaze slid back to glance back subtly over his shoulder to make certain he wasn't losing those behind.

Aerith's contact was comforting, even though it was Yuuri who needed more support tonight. Either way he was grateful for her. The other two men seemed so serious, particularly Sephiroth. He was vaguely curious as to what else must have happened to them all in this place. Of course, he had no idea that some knew each other from places before this prison.

He continued walking quietly, lost in thought a little. Distractions - even from his own mind - were welcome at the moment, away from this unpleasant task.

He also had little idea what dangers may be lurking in the vicinity so staying alert and paying attention was not something forward on his mind.

Aerith said little as they moved back through the area. Comforting those around her was what mattered most now - everything else could be attended to later.

"That's all we can hope to do," Aerith said to Yuuri in response to his words. "We just need to try out best."

She did what she could to keep those she cared about safe, even at the cost of her own life. Perhaps, that is what had happened to Wolfram. Though, she hated to see anyone get hurt so young. These boys deserved to be here even less than she and Cloud did. Their innocence would be shattered in a place like this.

He wouldn't allow for anyone else to end up the same way as all the others. His power might not be what it really should be, but that had never stopped him before. What little he did have left would go into protecting those within the prison.

Yuuri's attention shifted back over to regard Cloud as he carried Wolfram's body. His face didn't remain devoid of emotions for long, and soon enough the corner of his eyes began to sting again.
