Albus Severus? Rocks like granite. Did not like most of the epilogue, however, because I've never been a OBHWF lover and it was the most cliche prose I think I've ever read (Lily? James? REALLY HARRY.). I can very much live without it. But utterly adored Draco's little cameo at the end! AHAHAH, all is forgiven Draco! They even nodded at each other. Win.
They are secretly having sex without their wives knowing.
On the other hand, I thought there was a heck of a lot introduced in this book to which there was no reference in previous books. At one point I felt like I was reading a different series.
This was my biggest problem. It wasn't so much a wrapping-up as it was a whole-new-pile-of-stuff dealie. And though I thought there ought to have been tons of deaths omg, I don't understand why if Remus and Tonks both had to die, it was offscreen and almost throwaway, like she needed to make up the numbers or something. *sigh*
Though I was horribly (and probably evilly) amused by the whole :|!Remus, who ended up marrying his stalker given my previous views on the utter pat-ness of R/T.
Yeah, I was expecting a grand beautiful tapestry to unveil, linking all the previous books together, and instead got last minute additions to the plot. :\
I was actually very confused by :|!Remus. Began to suspect Imperius curses and everything :O Until Harry noticed Tonks was glowing at the wedding, and then all became clear. But wtf, WHYWHYWHY.
I'm sure she really wanted to do it up for the last book, but it seemed to me like more plot pieces were left sitting on the floor to trip over than got tied together. WHY DOESN'T SHE JUST ASK ME TO PROOFREAD? :P
But wtf, WHYWHYWHY. Double-secret plot wherein half of the Marauders MUST procreate? Got nothing, really. All I know for sure is that for them to have started dating or something in May, married in (presumably) June, and pregnant enough to be glowing in July, they had some seriously effed up timetable for romance, no? Then again, I guess she had to shoehorn it all in so the kid was born before his parents got offed.
Harry saying Crucio scared the crap outta me. No Unforgivables from you, Potter! >:| I was most pleased he did not (technically) kill Voldemort, however.
He did Imperius too!! I kinda feel bad that I like that he did that.... especially with Crucio and his thought of "huh, I guess you really DO have to mean them" or whatever... but yeah, I liked that. :D
The battle of Hogwarts owned me. McGonagall with the desks yelling, "CHARGE!" will probably stay with me forever XD
I LOVE MCGONAGALL.
Snape. Well. Okay. I am very gullible. I admit it. A few chapters in, I got sucked into reassessing my previous theories, and begun to think Snape had been evil all along :O But then it all played out the way we knew it would, complete with Lily/Sev.
Same here!
Molly wiping the floor with Bella? A resounding HELL YES.
Yeah that part OWNED. Though I was kinda hoping Neville would do it. But he was a destroyer of a Horcrux, so I guess we can't complain :D
I've never seen the Imperius Curse as quite as bad as the other two, for some reason. I think it may be partially because Harry himself can fight it, but mostly because it, unlike Cruciatus and AK, can be used for "good". It is not as inherently evil as the other two. Kingsley in OotP uses it on Marietta, for example, but not with the aim of dominating her mind. I suppose I see Harry's use of the Imperius Curse in DH as being somewhat akin to uses of Oblivate we've seen throughout the book - i.e. for 'the greater good'.
Long answer, but there you go XD.
MCGONAGALL. McG has been my favourite teacher since she told Peeves the chandelier unscrewed the other way in OotP, and EEEEE I am so glad she got a fantastic finish here! Her loyalty to Harry, and her DUELLING with Voldemort... Oh, Minerva, for the win. <3
Oh yes, I agree. Most things like that are about intention, to what purpose you'll be using it, etc.
Omg the chandelier moment is one of my favorites out of ALL the books. I'm so happy she rocked here, too. Especially after that scare in OotP, I thought she'd be a goner at the end of that book. But I'm so so so happy she made it through and was so TOUGH and brave (well she IS head of Gryffindor!) and yes, so LOYAL to Harry and eeeeeee *loves*.

I see fandom has latched onto Albus Severus/Scorpius already. As slashy as were their fathers before them XD
