Well, considering that it did hold the status of tallest manmade structure for 41 years, perception aside in the skyline of Paris, it IS big in many ways, n'est-ce pas?

Funny how ugly it looks from a distance (I can understand why the Parisians were dismayed when it was being built) and how spectacular it is up close...

I'm sure that it wasn't at all what they had in mind, and it certainly is… uniquely different (?)… compared to the other architecture. Of course, distance and perspective (both with distance and time) sure have an impact.
