Remembering Chris

Not too many days go by that I'm not thankful that I had Chris as my friend at one point in my life. The sacrifice that he made and the reasons he made them will always be a painful reminder to me that men and women all over our country make sacrifices that I cannot begin to make myself.

I understand completely and had I been in your situation, I would have responded also. She had no right to sit and use his story as if she knew him personally, no right at all. All of this would be largely different if there was an involuntary draft on the young men of this country. But there isn't, the men and women who go into the service are doing so under their own free will, for their own reasons. They know the possible consequences of the contracts they enter into.

I know many military and prior military service people. None of them have spoken against the war nor against the reasons we are over there. The writer of that article is trying to stir controversy and I find her method vile.

Thanks, Chip. I felt very compelled to speak for him. He always stood up for everyone else. Now someone needs to do that for him.
