[Closed to Snape; Timed to earlierish today]

Lily had spend the better part of the day reading, curled up in a chair at the back of the library.   The village certainly have its odd days, as apparently the sun decided to take a day off, leaving it to be dark out.  But at the same time, Lily didn't see that as any reason to be cooped up in her room all day, she hadn't run into anything ( Read more... )

She didn't answer.

She didn't answer for too long.

Severus was out of the hotel like the proverbial bat out of hell. Those things-- people, once but no more -- got in his way. But not for long.

He heads for the library, hoping she was smart enough to still be there, hiding.

Which she is where she would be if she had actually checked her messages before she was out on the street. She had gotten far to complacent here, back home she knew better than to go off on her at night (even if it was technically still day). She had got complacent and let her guard down. She felt like she was going in circles, she couldn't have gotten too far from the library, and most of the doors she tried were locked.

Apparently she was the only on who missed the memo. But stopping somewhere on the street seemed like a bad idea.

Lily looked behind her to see how far behind her it was when something grabbed her arm from the side and she shrieked, wrenching away from it. Another one. She sent it into the wall with a hex only to have it get back up again. She kept yelling curses at them as backed away from them, desperately using anything to try and get them away from her.

The library had some interesting guests, though -- Snape dispatched with with a certain lack of compassion. He didn't care. They were no longer people, and quite frankly, he was doing them a favor.

But when Lily was not at the library, he took out something that rarely left his pocket -- that letter, with Lily's love inscribed upon it -- and focused.

He was no master seer, but he could scry when he had to. Tearing off a tiny strip, he dedicated it to the focus, and allowed it to become a Wisp, flickering with light and joy -- not unlike the patronus, but far weaker. It would lead him to Lily.

But he just hoped it would be soon enough.

Lily had gotten herself cornered, and she didn't even want to think about how. She felt she could have done better than let herself get caught up like this.

She was doing her best to keep them back but they seemed just as determined as she was. She found that fire kept them deterred them the most, not that it was something she would normally try but at the time one of them had nearly yanked her arm out trying to pull her towards him.

She had set up a line of fire between her and the zombies and it was keeping the at bay for now as she nursed some of her wounds. She really really hoped Severus, anyone showed up soon, because she didn't think that she could keep them back much longer and she was running out of ideas.
