With the Reverse Challenge Phase 1 posting, some of you may have realized that we've been posting the art to the archive as well. We hadn't discussed doing this beyond the challenge, but then a member asked us about it, and we have decided to go forward with it. There are still a few things we have to work out, as well as some rules that will come into it, but in a week or two, artists will be able to submit Draco and Hermione art to H&V!
Since before we even opened, we've tried to be as much about the D/Hr community as possible, and this includes more than just writers and readers. Poetry has started to come in, and now we're opening the door to artists. While we're crazy excited about this, we are held back a bit by what we can change tech-wise. The "author" title, for example, will have to remain the same. Some of you may have noticed that submitting a story is now called a "fanwork" - it's the name we're trying to encompass stories, poetry, and art. We aren't set on it, however, and we want to make sure we aren't turning writers off - so, poll time! Of course, comments are welcome to the post itself. If you wish to discuss anything privately, you can submit a ticket at the
Help Desk to the General Queries Dept - no one but me and Elyaeru will see it. ;)
Poll Additionally, artists can now set themselves as such by going into their Account Management - Edit Profile, and clicking on Yes next to Artist. This will list you as an artist in your member profile, and will cause you to show up under Artist in the Member Search. We've added Art as a category to submissions, and are looking for your suggestions for sub-categories (Traditional, Manipulation, Painting, Sketch, etc).
Soon we'll be posting up more information on the art rules and submission start date, so look out for that. :) Thank you for your feedback, guys!
