I built the bookcase - and it was really easy! why did no one think I could do this? why did I not think I could do this? - I totally thought you could do this! You are a strong, independent woman. <3

I have absolutely no spatial awareness though and I am not brilliant at 'that bit obviously fits in that bit' so I thought I would struggle. The fact I didn't makes me feel like a MAGNIFICENT UNICORN OF BRILLIANCE.

That sounds really lovely! I need to do similar to our flat - everything feels so cluttered, and it all gets so dusty and grubby and dispiriting - but it feels like such a daunting task. I have been feeling really unmotivated to do anything lately. And I know I have things that I could get rid of, but I do really love books and DVDs and having them around me; I don't want to chuck stuff out just for the sake of minimalism, but I don't want to be hemmed in by piles of stuff. A bigger flat would be nice ...

I am SUCH a packhorse. With DVDs - look, I don't re-watch enough of them to justify the ones I have, and I'm not some kind of film buff to justify them either. But I love my geeky DVDs and completing collections! So... inventive storage solutions, and throwing out the stuff I really don't need.

I don't think I would have had such a comprehensive Sort My Fucking Life Out session without deliberately putting aside a day and saying look, this is the day this is happening, you can buy nice stuff and then use it. I don't think I'll do this again for another 3 years, either..!
