I think you are taking this from the Bund. The view across the river is of Pudong New Area. Why do I say this? Well, the round thing is the Pearl Tower. Anyway, I stayed in a hotel just a bit out of the right hand side of the frame (Shangri La), so know that side of the river in that are pretty well.

Well most of the pics that aren't the Pearl tower in that series are of the Bund (All the Eastern European architecture buildings), so I was just generallizing *)
