Maybe it was the eleven months he spent in the womb

The munchkin (I'm still calling her that, btw) has been away on a school trip all week, leaving me to ramble about the house by myself all day. It's an interesting preview of what it's going to be like when she goes away to college. In only six years. *heart flutter* Empty nest syndrome here I come ( Read more... )

I totally feel about West Wing the way you do about Angel. It's my gateway and my comfort fandom all in one.

Ditto on not really feeling it for any of the new tv season, but you are the third person with good Terrier things to say, so I think I need to put this in the tivo ASAP!

West Wing was the fandom that meant the most to me and it's the show that inspired me to start writing in the first place, so that's obviously huge to me. But I was never happy with the WW fics I wrote. Writing them helped me become a better writer, but looking back on them they were embarrassingly amateur. Which is why I don't have them archived on LJ or AO3.

I'm with you on not being excited about anything this season. I've only read the WB scripts, and the only pilots I've seen were the ones I caught the couple of nights I worked the Paley Fall Preview last week. Lone Star might shake out to be a better show (pilots usually aren't good) but the lead actor is going to be the next Clooney (and you know how much I love me some Clooney). He's charming and probably worth watching the show just for him. I was disappointed in Running Wilde, and I was completely surprised, charmed, and dare I say, misty-eyed by the end of Raising Hope. Of the stuff I've seen/read, it is the best show of the new season, and I'm shocked to hear myself saying that.

Also, on the writing...not having that last paragraph doesn't mean there's something wrong with the story. It can easily be the opposite, it's good and well-written so you don't have the ending to do it justice just yet. :)

That makes me feel better. It's funny, because usually the endings just come to me, like they're writing themselves. I don't know how to deal with one that doesn't. Maybe I'll think of something while I'm doing the revisions. Or while I'm writing something else.
