You're welcome! I miss the days when I used to write birthday drabbles right and left, but it's been harder with where canon has gone.

But you were most worthy! Of being tortured, perhaps. ;)

Poor Sam :( he was so tortured (well I guess he still is) back then, that I sort of understand why he gave up on hunting when Dean was in Purgatory ... but at the same time, I never really quite understood. Here, he kept running in circles to find him, and he was never there, while in Purgatory, he could have found him, I guess. Still, this captures the old Sam very well :)

I haven't seen the recent seasons, so I don't really know what happened there.

But I think at this point in canon, Sam simply can't adjust to Dean being gone (even though he had the threat of it in "Mystery Spot"), and part of him keeps hoping-- so impossibly-- that it isn't real. But Dean being gone isn't the dream, it's that Dean is still living. :(

Such a sad time in the series, but wonderful for all of that.
