I felt so bad for him. When you look at the opening of the movie, someone's trying to escort him away from ridiculously non-existent danger, and then next you know random bad guys are trying to blow him up and shooting his place to smithereens. That'll shake your confidence in knowing how your life works. :0

I left it up to the reader to decide if John had planned more of that date than it first seemed. Was it a casual phone call? Or waiting 'long enough for Matt to miss him without seeming overeager?' And all the physical parts... such an extension of the movie, where John touched Matt constantly, always so protective and reassuring (and persuasive). ;)
