Haven't seen The Notebook, but I do think that the Hollywood portrayals of romance aren't altogether realistic. Movie treatments and television treatments of romance are made for entertainment value for the most part, so the fiction is a lot more perfect, idealized or dramatized than the real-life counterpart is. Unfortunately, because we are watching it on our televisions and movie screens so often, we come to expect this as being normal, when it is actually raising our expectations to an unrealistic level.

OMG I AGREE!!!!

Tis why I am 31 and stillllllllll waiting for Prince Charming. ;)

Then again, I've got a ton of "happily" married people around me and NONE of their lives are like the movies...

*hugs*

I dont know if Hollywood made me believe it but I do think that there is this one person for you. That one person that fits best to you. And as long as we havent found that person we settle with what works best at that moment. Not that we dont love that right now person. It's just that we once in a while get the feeling that something is missing. And as long as that feeling is there I dont think it's the one person. But I also think its very rare to find that person.
