I was baptised into the Methodist communion, largely because my father was a dick. He was also a church elder, but that is rather beside the point. My mum, very non-denom, would've been just as happy tripping down to the nearest CofE franchise and going through the motions.

It takes a lot of bravery for a person who has built their life on not questioning anything to admit to a child, "I don't know."
