Oh, I love this - it is perhaps my favorite alternate take on this fairy tale yet.

This bit is particularly striking:

Or the sharp tang of fresh blood on your tongue,
Ten times sweeter than custard.

Thanks :) It definitely turned out better than the other one, which I'll have to go back and edit. Had a hard time translating image to words in the other one. This one just flowed - the best do :)
