Aww. Bless her heart. I think a lot about how people forget that in the end, Elena really is just a kid. one who probably does want her mom when she's terrified or sick. Heck, I'm in my 30s and still want to be nurtured by my mom on a bad day. And, aww to Damon for trying so hard.

pheew, I'm so relieved that it didn't disappoint you! As mentioned above, I feel awfully nervous about this chapter. I have so much pity for Elena. The thought of losing my mom gets me all depressed and helpless, imagine losing all five(!) of your parents! Her life sucks almost as royally as Damon's, doesn't it?

She certainly has a lot to grieve about. In rapid secession she's lost numerous people she's loved or grown up with. On top of that, Stefan's gone (and there's no way he'll ever be the same when he gets back), Jeremy's her kid brother- she feels like she has to protect him so she often treats him like a child, and let's face it- Bonnie can't really be trusted to be rational with anything vampire related. That leaves Damon. And as much as adore him- stability isn't what he's known for. I have no doubt that he loves her- none. But! Once he has her, I'm convinced that it's not going to be all hearts and flowers and happiness. They are both too deeply wounded for that.

It's true, Damon is not known for his stability and if or when they finally ge together it will be hard, but despite all this, I always think that they would compliment each other in a relationship, something like grow with each other. Well, maybe that's just my wishful thinking....

Seriously... instead of just giving into the love of her life she lets him believe that she made a mistake by kissing her? Damn her... can't she see what this is doing to Damon? *AH!* Frustrated :)

I just saw your story, and I love it. More than love it actually. I think you're doing a great job with Elena, she does need her mother, and I feel that the show makes her to mature at times. I'm looking forward to your next update!

Thank you, that's great to hear! And yes, sometimes Elena seems almost unnatural stable considering what kind of troubles she faces. Maybe they'll give her more vulnerability in season 3...

It's not nice to wish a breakdown on characters in your favourite show... but I'd like to see her properly lose it, even just for an episode (not pull a Bella or anything, cos that would make me soooo mad haha). Also: freaking love your story. There are best sellers out there who can't portray chemistry the way you have :)

Just great :) Love your writing and I agree. Elena does need her mom. She is just a kid and doesn't know how to cope with everything. Especially since Damon doesn't know either.
