Also, I'd probably have trouble trusting those mags again. Since mags are reasonably inexpensive, my vote would be for replacement.

Seriously, better safe than dead. New mag time. In re the "Bad habit" issue. It happens. Glad it didn't go worse than it did. But you realized it, and hopefully, will use how dumb you felt for doing it as impetus to NOT do it again!!!

It's almost never worth the frustration of trying to tweak the feed lips on a magazine, especially one that's as available and inexpensive as the 1911. Might be worth your time for something old where the magazines are either unobtanium, or $texas.

Also, might want to start numbering your magazines so you can keep track of which ones are having problems, if you haven't already.

Is that magazine something that you and your family's lives depends on?

Go slower on the handling. Rushing is usually the issue.

RE the magazines, bending them back will probably be futile. Feed lips on mags are CRITICAL to ensure proper functioning. Usually that's the first problem with a gun is damaged magazines.

Toss em in the parts bin OR modify them as safe mags with a filler of resin and lead to make a "safe" magazine for practice drills. Paint the base plate and the body blue as a way to easily ID them, even in the gun.
