Ick to the heat and the bugs and bad weather in Dallas, but yay for all those new birds and dinner with an old friend and great convention!! I really look forward to the pictures.

These were all new birds to me, too! I had to identify all of them in the bird book, except the chachalacas.

In Quinta Mazatlan, yes, definitely. In the wildlife refuge, it was mostly annoyance at the bugs. I mean, my arm and face was COVERED with them if I stood still long enough to take a picture. It was pretty hideous.

Oh man.... that's worse than the SUV being surrounded at Antietam! HHmmmmm... could make a horror flick... "Night of the Living Gnats"... ;P

It really was worse than Antietam. Or maybe you were just drawing them all away from me at Antietam... ;)
