The results are generally positive, although we know from experience they might be somewhat bloated. Still, the trend is clear: younger people especially are more gay friendly, and opinions have shifted across society in the last few years. The narrow (52.4% to 47.6%) passage of Proposition 8 is a real heartbreaker. I was cautiously optimistic about it, but seeing it pass, in a very liberal state, in a high-turnout election, where a lot of liberals felt particularly motivated to vote, is certainly a little demoralizing. We all know that younger generations tend to be more progressive than those previous, and that's certainly true when it comes to homosexuality and gay rights.

But a new poll has found that two-thirds of Americans under the age of 35 support marriage equality. Compared to 40% of the population at large.

It's a train, folks.

I'll bet you've all seen them. At the end of a TV news segment on hot button issue of the day, they quote the results of a poll they ran off their website. You know the -"Do you think California should amend it's constitution to ban gay marriage?"- radio button poll. Also, interestingly enough, CNN.com has a poll on same-sex marriage and 53% (44,413 of 83,167) of respondents support it. Those polls mean nothing and aren't scientific, and CNN probably has a more liberal readership, but I thought it was interesting.
