Just wanted to post three photos from our evening at Moonstone Beach on Friday (to help counteract, perhaps, the profound glumness of the first post today). They're behind the cut:

It's funny, a simple cairn like that could last thousands of years. I doubt that whole beach will last more than a season. I'm sure that the first structure made by human as we stumbled away from being an animals was a cairn. When we finally wink out I'm sure the last structure we will make as a race will be a cairn sepulchral.

Lovely photos, esp the middle picture. Makes me miss time at the beach though the Gulf of Mexico doesn't have the bowtie rocks.
