Das Motelzimmer stinkt nach Blut und Scheiße...

1. We just heard the news that Phil Harris, Captain of the Cornelia Marie, has died at age 53 of a stroke. You may know him as "Captain Phil" from Deadliest Catch, a series of which Spooky and I are oddly fond. And the news is oddly sad. He was our favorite captain on the show. To quote the AP release, "Harris started working on fishing boats at ( Read more... )

The snow is just now reaching Providence, and it looks like it's going to be a heavy one.

It's just starting to snow here. I'm not sure whether we're supposed to get a snowpocalypse or just a few outriders of Armageddon, but I foresee shoveling.

Xiang 1.0 may well be dead, but now...I am playing Xiang 2.0a (saddled by Gemini with loyalty software), Xiang 2.0b (created by a Gemini agent named Molly Longshadow, for her own personal ends), and Xiang 2.0c (the copy uploaded to the Abeus droid, and later delivered to Hibiki-O, a cyborg who has done much to keep Xiang alive and hidden from TPTB). 2.0b and 2.0c are currently without bodies.

That sounds fantastic.

Xiang is pretty unvergleichlich herself, but big hair and bigger hairpins tend to remind me of an ugly scene from my youth involving a vice cop, an underage Carmen Miranda drag queen, and a glory hole... Anyway, it would be cool to try reading 'Fossil' with my rusting German; I'll look for a copy!

I knew some other folks who've worked up RP scenarios/campaigns/settings in Second Life, and it sounds incredible *in principle* to me. But the interface or the overall feel of it or something, just prevents me being able to invest in it. But it's been a while and tech has presumably progressed -- maybe I should give it another try. Your glee must be infectious :)

Speaking as someone who RP's a persona with several distinct simultaneous iterations (I had hoped to bring her to Howards End as a changeling), it can be exhausting but also completely awesome. Insilico looks and sounds magnificent. I'm glad it's working out for you. By the way, the character models look fantastic. Wish I could have gotten as far as that in SL.
