It was suggested, years ago, that I rejected monogamy because I have issues with commitment. The fact that I’ve maintained two stable relationships for a dozen years or so now may put the lie to the intent of the statement, let’s be clear.

Is it also perfectionism? I feel like I get really perfectionistic about hobbies, and then I'm like "this stitch isn't quite perfect" and rip out a whole scarf, which is pretty disheartening. Or "this photo could be retaken" and spend way more time re-editing and retaking than is actually fun anymore. No one is watching over my shoulder to see how fast I caught all the Pokemon in Pokemon Go (a few weeks ago), but I was pretty hardcore about it.

Either way, I think that basically, to have more fun, we need to let go of "should-do" parts of us, and just focus on the parts that make us happier. And... speaking of which, I'm going to stop reading Facebook/LJ and unhappy Trump quotes and things and instead have another cup of tea and a shower.
