This...I don't know how to deal with this. I thought for sure it wouldn't happen--that the Republicans would steal this from us, but it did and the stock market's rising and he has a lot of work ahead of him, but just from his speech last night and how his overall attitude...it's sort of like we now know what to expect from him as president. He's what America truly needs and I'm glad we all realize it.
I'm just hoping he deals with the whole Prop 8 thing. I can't believe that so many people in LA county would vote to ban gay marriage.

Every news article I read, every picture of people celebrating makes me all teary-eyed. I actually feel proud to be an American today. I feel hope for the future of our country. This is what the whole world needed and there's still a hell of a lot of work to do but that hope, it is amazing.
It even gives me hope in the face of Prop 8 because we will get more liberal supreme court justices. It won't stand for long.

We kicked out Elizabeth Dole and nominated our very first female [and dem though we usually have the dem part] governor. That damned Virginia Foxx won though, and that's as disgusting as Prop 8 and Amend 2 passing.
Still so much work to do.

Still so much work but I actually feel hopeful about, well, everything. And it's been a damn long time since I felt like that about anything political so that sure is something.
