if this was a picture it would be me running in circles with flailing hands and grinning ear to ear

I got sunburnt yesterday standing outside for eight hours holding Obama signs. I hate getting sunburnt almost more than anything and I usually do whatever I can try to avoid it at all costs and get very cranky if I can't. But today, though the skin on my face is all tight and itchy and dry and will likely be like that for the better part of the ( Read more... )

Me too. I went to bed late last night and woke up early but I couldn't go back to sleep because I had to get up and make sure it was all still real. And it is. IT IS!

I woke up this morning thinking that last night never happened. Then I checked CNN and I ended up crying><

This...I don't know how to deal with this. I thought for sure it wouldn't happen--that the Republicans would steal this from us, but it did and the stock market's rising and he has a lot of work ahead of him, but just from his speech last night and how his overall attitude...it's sort of like we now know what to expect from him as president. He's what America truly needs and I'm glad we all realize it.

I'm just hoping he deals with the whole Prop 8 thing. I can't believe that so many people in LA county would vote to ban gay marriage.

I was afraid it wasn't really too. But it is!

Every news article I read, every picture of people celebrating makes me all teary-eyed. I actually feel proud to be an American today. I feel hope for the future of our country. This is what the whole world needed and there's still a hell of a lot of work to do but that hope, it is amazing.

It even gives me hope in the face of Prop 8 because we will get more liberal supreme court justices. It won't stand for long.

I totally just changed my keywords to this icon in homage to yours 'cause yours are PERFECT. Also, I wore my monsters waiting in line to get pie threadless shirt at the polls. It felt very fitting.

I'm still obsessively refreshing the electoral map for North Carolina and Indiana but OMG. Virginia. VIRGINIA! And everything.

*clings and clings*

My state is still dithering 50/50 with Obama in the lead by 12,000 votes.

::sighs::

We kicked out Elizabeth Dole and nominated our very first female [and dem though we usually have the dem part] governor. That damned Virginia Foxx won though, and that's as disgusting as Prop 8 and Amend 2 passing.

Still so much work to do.

He's in the lead by 14,000 now. I just checked.

Still so much work but I actually feel hopeful about, well, everything. And it's been a damn long time since I felt like that about anything political so that sure is something.
