15. Why do you love Grace Kelly?
I guess a better question might be “why wouldn't you love Grace Kelly?” But then there would be no answer and we wouldn’t be here. :)
I love Grace Kelly because in the words of one of her directors, she was like a kaleidoscope - one turn and you would see a whole new facet. She had depth and mystery because she kept her personal life private, which I really respect. In general, I really admire how she carried herself with dignity in both of her professional lives (as an actress in Hollywood and as Princess of Monaco).
Grace was so poised and elegant, not to mention painfully gorgeous. Really, I think her beauty is unparalleled. Her face was totally symmetrical and she was incredibly photogenic. The camera loved her.
Someone of her caliber and beauty could have easily lapsed into being a selfish diva, but she wasn't like that at all. It also impresses me that she was very intelligent and a good businesswoman when it came to dealing with her role in Hollywood. She stood up for herself and what she believed in. And according to all her co-stars (and film crews as well), she was very professional and easy to work with. She was also very passionate, which contradicted her “ice maiden” image. I like that she wasn’t one of those “in your face” bombshells, but had a secret smoldering sex appeal.
As an actress, she was very devoted to the craft and very controlled. I wish she hadn't left Hollywood - or at least, not so early. I think we could have seen some great things from her as an actress. I always wonder about what her career could have become.
Superficially, she is and was a legendary beauty and an iconic fashion figure. I never get tired of looking at photos of her and her fashion choices when she was younger.
What else can I say - Grace was also a great humanitarian and philanthropist. She was a caring human being who wanted to make a difference.
She was just an intriguing human being with a fascinating life!
